Q: How can I join the Weehawken Volunteer First Aid Squad?

Q: Are all the Weehawken Volunteer First Aid Squad Certified Emergency Medical Technicians?
Yes. All ambulances are staffed by 2 New Jersey State Certified EMT’s at all times.

Q: Can I respond from my home for emergency calls?
No. Due to the high volume and the amount of traffic in the area, all Ambulances are staffed from Weehawken VFAS HQ.

Q: Does the Weehawken Volunteer First Aid Squad accept donations?
Yes. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Weehawken Volunteer First Aid Squad relies on donations to purchase new equipment and supplies to better serve the community. Fund-drive mailings are sent out to residents annually. Also, we will accept gently used canes, walkers, and wheelchairs that are in good working condition, as we loan them out to residents who need them.

Q: I was treated and/or transported by a Weehawken Volunteer First Aid Squad. Can I obtain a copy of the patient care report?
Yes. To obtain a copy of a patient care report, you must provide the date and approximate time of the incident, and submit a signed and notarized release from the patient or his/her guardian. All requests and information must be sent to Weehawken Volunteer First Aid Squad PO Box 4917, Weehawken, NJ 07086. If you have any questions, please contact the Weehawken Volunteer First Aid Squad at 201-863-6611 Monday to Friday 9 AM – 5 PM.
